Commercial Installer (Waynesboro)

Sales Operations Coordinator and Office Manager– Raleigh Durham

Sigora Solar is moving into Raleigh Durham! Sigora Solar is currently Virginia’s leading and fastest growing solar design and installation company with offices in Charlottesville, Richmond, Waynesboro, and Manassas. We are expanding into Raleigh Durham and looking for a tech savvy Sales Operations Coordinator and Office Manager to join our team and lead this nascent branch of our company.  The main focus of this position is to assist in facilitating the sales efforts for residential clients along with reception and office managing tasks as required. These tasks include maintaining our in-house CRM, accepting in-bound sales calls and setting appointments, generating new leads, following up with existing clients, and coordinating community events as needed.  This position offers a great opportunity to gain experience in the rapidly growing solar field, using technology (especially Excel) while learning about emerging technologies used in the renewable field.

The focus of this job is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential requiring patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a time. The job environment is stable, based on known relationships with people and well-defined processes. Job knowledge and competency is built through structured step-by-step training and positive, supportive coaching from management and peers. Solar Inspection Specialist – Temp to hire

We are currently looking to immediately fill the position of Solar Inspection Specialist to work throughout the state of Virginia. This position would be responsible for attending final inspections for our residential solar installations with the jurisdiction inspectors. When there are issues that arise that would prevent a system from passing final inspections, the inspection specialist would make the simple fixes that would allow the system to pass. Other duties include reporting on the completion status of inspections, and scheduling inspections as time permits. This position will start off as an hourly position with the intention of moving to full-time for the right person. The inspection specialist must have own vehicle to transport inspection supplies and collapsible ladder to appointments. This position offers a great opportunity to learn a lot about solar technology and begin a career in a rapidly expanding field (for the right person). It would be great for someone planning to go into electrical work or training programs or the renewable energy field.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Technically inclined, familiarity with electrical work
  • Must have own vehicle (mileage reimbursed plus ability to claim on year-end taxes)

Compensation:

This position starts at $10.00/hr with opportunity to increase for the right candidate.  There is significant room for growth in the field, and to move to a full-time position eligible for our benefits package including health insurance match, retirement and paid time off.  To start, this position is hourly working Monday-Friday from 9-5, and eligible for overtime.

Residential PV Designer

Sigora Solar, Virginia’s leading solar design and installation company, is growing faster than ever, and we need energetic, green-minded, hardworking, innovative team members to help us meet the demand for solar energy. Sigora Solar’s Department of Design + Engineering is now hiring a full-time employee as their new Residential PV Designer. The mission of the Department of Design + Engineering is to provide every one of our customers with the most code-compliant and top performing solar system possible while maintaining economic responsibility via thoughtful design and proper equipment selection.

Working under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Design + Engineering, the Residential PV Designer will be an integral part of Sigora’s growth and success. This person must understand engineering and design concepts and have a strong aptitude for quality and efficiency. Depending on what suits the applicant, this position may be based out of any of our office locations including Waynesboro, Charlottesville or Richmond, Virginia as well as our newest location in Raleigh, North Carolina. Initial training will take place in Waynesboro, Virginia.

Primary and specific responsibilities are as follows:

  • Draft One Line diagrams, structural diagrams and site plans using AutoCAD and Google SketchUp.
  • Research, document and comply with local and national electrical code requirements per individual Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Work closely with the Design + Engineering Coordinator to obtain roof structure certification letters and/or any other PE sealed plans required.
  • Make revisions to drawings as a result of client or AHJ request.
  • Perform various tasks to assist with commercial projects as needed.
  • Populate bill of materials for each residential project using Fishbowl.
  • Assist Sales Team and Project Managers with the response to RFPs, RFIs, bids, and other project proposal documents as needed.
  • Monitor and track progress on all projects. Communicate with team members and other departments/entities regarding project status.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, an earth sciences discipline (biology, chemistry, geology, natural resources, etc.), related scientific degree, or design.
  • Demonstrated high-level proficiency in computer aided design applications including AutoCAD and SketchUp. Experience with Google Earth and ArcGIS is preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills; high level of proficiency working in Excel spreadsheets and data management systems.
  • Creativity is Key. We need someone that has an eye for design and can think outside of the box.
  • Having an open mind is also an absolute must. With the rate of evolution in the solar industry, our methods are constantly progressing to stay ahead of the curve and we need someone that is hungry for a dynamic work environment.
  • Understanding of the National Electric Code, in particular Article 690, is required. It is necessary to carry out job responsibilities.
  • A strong commitment toward organization and quality – have the ability to produce high quality, error free deliverables, and anticipate and mitigate problems and conflicts as or before they arise.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. The ability to present technical topics to a non-technical audience and stakeholders is beneficial.
  • Proven technical and problem-solving skills including attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Basic knowledge of residential construction techniques and terminology preferred.
  • Effectiveness in building working relationships and working in multi-disciplined project teams, including the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Integrity and ability to lead by example.
  • Self-initiative, ability to work independently and productively, willingness to do what it takes to be successful.
  • Acceptable driving record with a valid driver’s license.
  • Willing to work on a team of driven, sustainability minded people with a common purpose to make the future of this world a cleaner, better place to live for all.
