A Charlottesville solar company will be raising money, collecting supplies and donating part of its proceeds this month to support the victims of Hurricanes Irma and Harvey.

Sigora Solar recently announced the start of a $100,000 GoFundMe campaign that will be bolstered by a supply collection effort and a promise to donate at least $20,000 from sales and installations of residential and commercial solar-energy system in September.

Sigora will donate $500 from each residential sale and installation and $1,500 from each commercial project.

Sigora will collect supplies for hurricane victims at its offices throughout the state, including its Charlottesville headquarters at 1222 Harris St. The company is asking for items such as cleaning materials, water, nonperishable foods, baby-care items and gift cards for major national retailers.

Last year, Sigora raised more than $90,000 for the Haitian victims of Hurricane Matthew.
